Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel, Kiss, and Geoge Clinton of P-Funk have all acknowledged his influence.
His dancing style was influential on his whole generation. His singing style also - for instance, Ian Gillan of Deep Purple says it was from Arthur he got the inspiration for his falsetto style.
He is regarded as the First Goth. He was respected by hippies and punks alike. Later, he became the first man to use a drum machine as a live instrument, replacing his drummer with a Rhythm Ace in 1973.
His voice has been described as "one of the most beautiful voices in rock music." His presentation is second to none! Recently he won Classic Rock's Showman of the Year Award.
He appears with Crazy World fully electric lineup and also the Hamburg Blues Band, electric and occassionally with Nick Pynn.
