Originally I was asked to write something a couple of years ago for the Jack Kerouac memorial performance in London. Peter Brown- the lyricist for Cream ( amongst other things) got in touch with me, and in response I wrote of an adventure I had on my first hitch- hiking jaunt.
It featured myself, an actor, Peter, and a dancer Angel - who I had first met when I jammed with Nick Turner. She now dances with The Crazy World. Background sounds and music were provided by Ollie Brown (the son of Paul Brown, synthesiser player for Kingdom Come.) He is now one of the mainstays of Hereldeduke, a very popular dub step band.
This performance was filmed, but nothing ever came of it.
I decided to get Narayan, a friend of mine in Portugal, and Tuba player with the Muskles of Lurve, to put some of his excellent electronic creativity behind it.
It is called Hitch hike-ooh!
By next year we will have the completed article.
